Just recently, Miles Russell, aged 15, made headlines for becoming the youngest player to make the cut at the Korn Ferry Tour event. Now, two weeks later, 16-year-old Kris Kim will try to follow suit, but on the PGA Tour. The amateur pro is the CJ Group ambassador and received his way into the CJ Cup Byron Nelson through a sponsor’s exemption.

Kim is the first British amateur to sign a NIL deal with TaylorMade and the apparel brand Under Armour. At 9:02 in TPC Craig Ranch, the Brit amateur will be making his debut, and there are the clubs he will use to shoot the best score.

As a TaylorMade golfer, Kris Kim’s bag is undoubtedly filled with all things TM. Starting with his driver, the 16-year-old has chosen to go with the TaylorMade Qi10 LS driver with 9 degrees of loft and has equipped it with a Mitsubishi Tensei 60 Flex TX shaft.

The driver’s reputation, moreover, is only strengthened by its being the go-to for the likes of Tommy Fleetwood and even Tiger Woods. It has a lower spin with a lower launch, and as per the distribution of weight in the head, it also provides better forgiveness and suits fast-swing players. How much can one buy it for, though? Well, a whopping $629.99!

The next club in Kim’s bag is the TaylorMade Qi10 Tour 3 wood. He uses it with a Mitsubishi Diamana WB 73 TX shaft, 15 degrees of loft. With a 4-degree sleeve and a 50-gram sliding weight, the 3-wood offers maximum adjustability options. Moreover, the new titanium twist face allows the players to hit far better and straighter shots because of its lightweight and flexible nature. The 3-wood sells for $449.99.

When it comes to his irons, Kim has three different types in his bag. The first is the P.770 2 Iron, the P.770 4 Iron, and finally, the P.7MB 5i-PW sets. The first two go for $199.99, whereas the iron set retails at $1,399.99. All of them are made with premium materials and allow better launch of the ball.

The wedges, putter, and ball in Kim’s bag

Kim uses the TaylorMade Milled Grind 4 Wedges with three different lofts in his bag: 50, 56, and 60 with the N.S. Pro WV 125 Tour Only shaft. The wedges’ tiny grooves provide assistance in wet conditions, which may be necessary at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson due to the unfavorable weather forecast.

Moreover, the milled soles provide maximum consistency and better performance. The club sells for $179.99. The last club in Kim’s bag is the Spider Tour Putter. This putter’s high MOI ensures stability and precision when hitting it better on the greens. It costs $349.99.

And the ball Kim will hole at least 18 times a day starting Thursday is the TaylorMade TP5 ball. The ball retails for $54.99 and is the go-to for many youngsters in the sport. It remains to be seen whether, on his PGA Tour debut, Kris Kim will be able to make the cut assisted by his top-notch equipment at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Tune in to find out!
