Tiger Woods has scaled mountains that some can only dream of. Although it is still up for debate as to whether or not he is the GOAT of the sport, one thing is certain: he has created a huge legacy for himself on the PGA Tour. The 15-time major championship winner achieved these extraordinary heights not just because of his splendid physical skill, but also because of his mental strength. After all, his resolve is unmatched, and he’s always calm and composed on the course. And he once even revealed his secret behind staying so.

It’s a question fans have wondered about the golf pro ever since he turned pro. And his answer, although not exotic, was quite touching. “That’s who I am,” he stated. “I’m not a person who ranges in emotions from high to low, I’ve always been more or less pretty mellow.”

The 82-time PGA Tour winner added that not only did he remain composed on the course, but the stress of situations in fact made him even more focused. “The more the situation gets tense, the more I see things clearly,” he claimed. “I think that’s just a knack that I’ve always had.” Quite a handy tool Woods has under his belt, especially with the pressure-filled situations he faces on the course!

While his claim may be bold, it was certainly true. After all, the entire world witnessed it firsthand at the 2019 Masters, when he began the final round two strokes behind the leader and went on to grab the green jacket at the end of those final 18 holes with a one-stroke lead. He had let the stress drive him further.
