Early today, the US golfer posted a clip on her Instagram handle advocating a pain-relief method named Iovera treatment. Writing that over the years she has learned the benefits of non-drug treatments, she wrote on her Instagram, “I’ve learned about the power of non-drug options like Iovera pain relief.”
Explaining further in the video, the one-time major winner remarked that Iovera, unlike other established drug treatments, uses the human body’s natural response to cold and provides long-term pain relief. Furthermore, its easy-to-adopt and totally hassle-free nature has made it more appealing to her. Remarking on its convenience, the 28-year-old golfer added, “It can be done right in your doctor’s office.”
Thompson has had her fair share of injuries over the years. Her personal struggles must have contributed to her knowledge about managing injuries. Ultimately, her final advice is, “Knowledge is power in managing pain.”

Earlier this year, in the Chevron Championship, her taped-up wrist gave rise to speculation that she might miss the Solheim Cup squad. Fortunately, the inflammation around her tendon didn’t deal a major blow to her aspirations. But 2023 is not the only year where injuries almost jeopardized her career goals.
Earlier in 2018, she had to withdraw from the Diamond Resorts Invitational due to a wrist injury. Back in 2019, after the USA’s narrow loss to Europe at the Solheim Cup, it was reported that her back spasms might have prevented her from having a solid game. She lost to Georgia Hull in the singles, eventually.
