The 2022 Masters is officially underway as the honorary starters played the opening tee shot. Moreover, this year Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player had Tom Watson as the third honorary starter. However, just after these three tee shots, social media exploded with comments about Gary Player’s Golf Saudi logo on his shirt.
The South African golfer had Golf Saudi written on his shirt around the neck, and during the live telecast, a few people captured and shared it on social media platforms. Hence, all the golfing fans couldn’t believe this, and they started trolling the 86-year-old South African.

Why Golf Saudi logo is upsetting the fans?
The last few months have been pretty intense in the golfing world. The rumored Saudi Golf League created a tremendous uproar as there were reports of a few top players joining this league. However, Greg Norman came up with a LIV Golf League with Saudi backing. Moreover, Phil Mickelson criticized the PGA Tour and backed this league. Hence, he had to face a lot of criticism and trolling, which forced him to take a break from golf.

Therefore, fans do not want to see any rival league against the PGA Tour, and most of the top players have also made it clear that they won’t be competing in any other league. However, Greg Norman is trying his best to build this league, and hence, fans think Player might have some association with this as he had a Golf Saudi logo on his shirt at Augusta National.
Moreover, the PGA Tour commissioner has already made it clear that any golfer associated with the rival league will face a life ban. However, Gary Player hasn’t talked and revealed his views on the rival golf league.
Golf fans troll Gary Player for having a Golf Saudi logo on his shirt
Fans are already angry with this decision of Gary Player to have the logo Golf Saudi on his shirt. So here are a few reactions of the fans on Twitter.
Gary has always chased the money. It's odd, because he was definitely against the old ZA apartheid. I guess the Saudi repression is OK with him.

You’re seeing the real Gary Player, not in same category as Jack & Arnie on and off the course. Last year his son used The Masters to sell golf balls…. Maybe this time Augusta will learn.

I find it funny who we decide to “cancel”
Gary Player pulls that shit with the golf balls last year and now the Saudi Golf league. Everyone still loves himPhil Mickelson talks about the Saudi Golf and now his reputation is basically ruined
