The ForePlay podcast has established its name in the golf world, run by avid golf enthusiasts weekly for other golf lovers. They provide a platform for people who share a passion for golf and want to talk about anything and everything related to the sport.

In one of their recent Instagram posts, they posted a video of the resilient return of Matthew Liver (Bam) to the greens playing a tee shot. He is the director of the Poulton Le Fylde Golf Club, Lancashire. But more than Mathew’s position of power, people recognize him for his unshakable dedication to the game and his fight against cancer.

Mathew, as many would know, had been diagnosed with cancer. The tumor in his heel provided him with no other option than getting an amputation. However, ‘Bam’ proved to be optimistic throughout his journey of recovery. He positively captioned one of his posts, “I consider myself one of the luckier ones, cancer has cost me my foot but it could have been a lot worse and for many it is”.

Mathew had been trying to re-enter the field and improve his game after defeating cancer. His successful re-entry on the greens was endorsed by the ForePlay pod on Instagram. The golf fanatics did not disappoint in cheering him on his recovery. This is not the first time his recovery post has received so much love. People have stood by his side as he traced back the path towards his passion.

From hyping him for being back in the game to celebrating his courage, The comments were filled with positivity. Where some people enthusiastically commented on his swing: “The fact he’s even playing… legend!“, “This rules!”, “Hell yeah man! Looking pure. Keep grinding” and “ Nice sawed off finish”.

Others boosted his morale by adding, “Still better then mine, keep fighting the good fight and play the game you love”. Fans even found inspiration from his healing.

One of the reactions, “this is why the game of golf can be played forever” sums up the emotions of the golf fans, reminding everyone of the essence of this beautiful game.
