Will Justin Thomas's impending fatherhood inspire a legendary performance at the ZOZO Championship?

The 2024 ZOZO Championship is a rather special event for Justin Thomas. This will be his last event before he becomes a father. The couple are expecting to welcome their first child by late November. Additionally, JT is also looking forward to grabbing his fifth Asian win in Japan. He has already won four times in Asia in the past CIMB Classics in 2015 and 2017 in Malaysia and 2017 and 2019 THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson in South Korea.

After the conclusion of the first two rounds, the 31-year-old is currently tied for the second position with Taylor Moore at 10-under. He not only went bogey-free on Friday but also finished the round with a 540-yard long eagle on the 18th hole. Will he finally be able to grab his fifth win? And what is the equipment he is using to pace up his game?

According to GolfWRX, the American professional opts for the Titleist GT2 (9 degrees) driver. JT ranks in the 17th position on the list of total driving efficiency, with a combined rank of 47. Undoubtedly, his driver, which offers impressive distance from any impact point, with maximum performance through a forgiving design, plays an important role in that. He equips it with the Mitsubishi Diamana ZF 60 TX shaft. The club retails for $649 according to the official website.

Justin Thomas has two fairway woods in his golf bag. The first one is the Titleist TS3 (15 degrees), which he uses with the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Blue 85 TX shaft. Priced at $340, it is known to give out dynamic forgiveness and better shot control. The other is the Titleist 915 Fd (18 degrees @19.5), which he uses with the Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 9.2 X shaft. It is currently priced at $299.

For the irons, the American professional has three different options: Titleist T200 (4), Titleist T100 (5), and Titleist 621, JT (5-9). He uses all of them with the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shaft. The irons promise the player distance and precision without any need to compromise on power. They cost $200.
