Is Justin Thomas's career on a downward spiral, or can he bounce back stronger than ever?

Fans can be pretty brutal when it comes to roasting athletes, and after the BMW Championship results, they went ruthless on the players. And the latest post about Justin Thomas speaks volumes. With comments and posts talking about golfers’s performances and roasting them, they are unstoppable. While there have been a lot of instances of fans making fun of the golfer, this one takes the cake.

Justin Thomas landed way back on the leaderboard at T39 with a poor score of 2 over par, and fans were not one step behind in showing their disappointment in a recent post by NUCLR GOLF fans. NUCLR GOLF posted a scene from the movie Dumb and Dumber making fun of Thomas after he lost the trophy in a very lousy manner.

Thomas thought he had missed his chance to qualify for the Tour Championship after finishing the BMW Championship with a 68. “I’m just going home to Jupiter, Florida. I don’t need to stress about  it,” said the golfer, according to Golf Digest. But then, something unexpected happened. Brian Harman made a double bogey on the last hole, which moved Thomas up to 30th place in the FedEx Cup points. This meant Thomas qualified for the Tour Championship after all!

But did that stop the fans from making fun of the golfer? No, in fact, they were not even talking about this achievement.

Fans comment on the recent Justin Thomas loss

The luck might be in Justin Thomas’s favor, but the fans sure were not. With zero wins and four missed cuts, the golfer hasn’t had a very good 2024 season; his recent loss added more drama to his performances, and the netizens were not ready to let it go so easily. The iconic scene ‘So you’re telling me there’s a chance?’ scene from the movie Dumb and Dumber was translated into a quality meme on Thomas. And the fans were answering the question on behalf of the trophy.

Have an interesting take?

“Same chance as I do and I am not in the field,” said one fan mocking the golfer’s chances to win the FedEx Cup playoffs, while another said, “Hell no.” And well, they may be wrong this time. While Thomas has had a fairly poor track record at the BMW Championship in the past, he was able to bounce back in the last tournament of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Take his performance in the 2022 FedEx Cup season. Thomas finished the 2022 BMW Championship at T52 with a score of one over par, which is worse than this year’s. But he was able to bounce back and score 17 under par to secure the T5 spot at the 2022 Tour Championship. Despite that, a heap of fans were saying no to his chance of winning the Tour Championship this year.

“I’m going to be honest…no,” said one fan. Adding salt to the golfer’s fresh wound, this fan said, ‘Zero chance.” While many fans believed that the golfer had no chance at all at the upcoming event, this fan said the same, but with a little decoration: “Realistically… it should already be put in Scottie Scheffler’s trophy case.” And well, they’re not completely wrong here. Scheffler has had a hell of a ride in the 2024 season. The golfer has won the 2024 Paris Olympics as well as 5 other tournaments this year, including the 2024 Masters, with an excellent score of 11 under par. So, what do you think?
