Justin Thomas is yet to put a start to his 2021-22 season after the Ryder Cup last month. The PGA Tour star is still reveling in their historic 19-9 win over the European Team. During a recent appearance on “Call Him Papi with David Ortiz and Jared Carrabis”, Thomas spoke about his life, Michael Jordan, his relationship with Tiger Woods, and why he uses the number “34”.
The reason might be more unique than you would think. That being said, Thomas‘ social media handles all feature the number 34. Naturally, fans have wondered about the number and the possible meaningful reason behind it.
If you check Justin Thomas’ Instagram or Twitter, you will see the number 34 attached to all his handles. While the number has to do with baseball, it has a deeper connection to his childhood.

Why does Justin Thomas use the number 34 everywhere?
“He took us to a doubleheader at old Yankee Stadium,” he added. He explained that he watched David Wells get thrown out, which he described as “incredible”.
For Thomas, he was a child in middle school, who was drawing Fenway Park pictures. “Growing up in Louisville, Kentucky, we don’t have any professional sports teams,” he explained.
He added that the Reds of the Colts are the only closest teams they had, and he has to credit his uncle Bill for getting him into the team.
That being said, the number 34 is because he is a Big Papi, David Ortiz fan. “It stuck pretty well for me”.
