The game of golf is full of memorable moments. While there are many comebacks and intense competition, there are also many heartfelt and warm moments. The PNC Championship is one event, filled with such instances. Former world No. 1 Justin Thomas recently declared his entry in the competition, playing alongside his father.

Joining him is also current world No. 1 Nelly Korda, who will be playing with her father as well. The PNC this year sees a very strong roster.
What is the PNC Championship?
The PNC tournament is the PGA Tour’s way of celebrating family. The championship sees a total of 20 pairs competing for a total purse of $1,085,000. The competing teams are made up of PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions Major Champions paired with a family member.

The tournament serves as a great way to entertain the fans and provide bonding time for the players and their families. The championship is to be held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando from the 15th to the 18th of December.
The event, unlike the PGA Tour’s regular 72-hole grind, follows a 36-hole format. In a scramble format, the players compete over only two rounds. The event is eagerly anticipated by fans because it allows them to see their favorite golfers compete alongside their beloved family members.
Justin Thomas is part of an incredibly strong roster
With the championship now being just a month away, many player confirmations have been received. Recently, LPGA superstar Nelly Korda confirmed that she and her father, the Australian Open tennis champion, Petr Korda, will be at the event. She said, “We absolutely loved our experience last year and are delighted to have been invited again this year.”

The father-daughter team will also face Justin Thomas and his father, Mike. The two-time major champion and his father first played in the tournament in 2020 and went all the way to win it. They are undoubtedly looking forward to taking the trophy home again.
Jordan Spieth will compete alongside his father, and Annika Sorenstam will compete alongside her 11-year-old son. The defending champion duo, John Daly and his son John Daly II, also return to try and retain their title. Tiger Woods and his son Charlie are also speculated to be there.
