Jan Stephenson is a name that every golf enthusiast should know. However, it wasn’t just her impressive record that made her a trailblazer in the golfing world

Her efforts to give back to the society with her charity foundation have helped many in need. Stephenson recently reached a milestone in life by celebrating her 71st birthday. However, just a few months later, unfortunately, the golfer was served with one of the biggest challenges.

Jan Stephenson has a bad news

The Hall of Famer has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. The organizers of Stephenson’s foundation released the news. Moreover, they even shared that the golf legend will soon undergo chemo and radiation therapy.

She thanked her family for their support in this difficult time. “It means so much to me for all my friends and family to lend so much support.”

Moreover, she said that diagnosis is nothing more than the challenges she has faced during her career and she will overcome it. “I have had some negative challenges in my career and managed to survive. This is just another tough hole that is ‘Uphill and Against the Wind.’ See you on my next downhill and downwind hole!”

The foundation was started by the 71-year-old to support military veterans. The aim was to help those who have selflessly risked everything to protect their countries. 

They support disabled veterans and first responders by equipping them with the necessary resources to progress in life. Moreover, they introduce them to the sport of golf to promote their overall health and well-being.
