Another big name is all set to join LIV Golf! According to reports, the former professional golfer and golf analyst David Feherty would be joining the Saudi Arabia-backed golf league.

“Golf analyst David Feherty and NBC have parted ways,” the New York Post reported. “And he is expected to join the LIV Golf tour’s broadcasts.”

The Saudi-backed league has already signed with NBC soccer play-by-player Arlo White. And according to reliable sources in NY Post, the former European Tour is also likely to join them as the golf analyst for its Invitational Series.

When will the next LIV Golf start, and will Feherty be a part of it? 

After the event at the Portland, the LIV Golf Invitational Series will have its third tournament in Bedminster. The Trump National Golf Club will host the league event from July 29

According to New York Post, a source has informed them about the news about Feherty leaving NBC and joining the league. However, when the media reached NBC, they declined to comment.

Furthermore, Feherty hasn’t replied to the message as well. Therefore, it is not sure when the former golfer will join the league in its third event at the Bedminster-based golf club.  

David Feherty, professional career

Although he is currently working as a golf analyst, David Feherty used to have a successful professional golfing career. After turning professional in 1976, the golfer spent most of his career playing on the DP World Tour, formerly known as European Tour, where he had won 5 titles. 

Feherty has also played on the PGA Tour; however, he has never won a title. Notably, he was the captain of the victorious Alfred Dunhill Cup team in 1990. He had also represented Team Europe in the 1991 Ryder Cup.

After retiring in 1997, the Northern Ireland native started working as an on-course reporter and golf analyst. The 63-year-old has worked with CBC for more than two decades before joining NBC. Feherty started working as a golf analyst for NBC’s Golf Channel for the past seven years. He had his own prime-time talk show called Feherty on the Golf Channel, which premiered on Jun 21, 2011. 

He is also a contributor to Golf Magazine and has his own column in the magazine called Sidespin. Moreover, Feherty is the New York Times and Booksense best-selling author of four books, including ‘David Feherty’s Totally Subjective History of the Ryder Cup.’
