John Daly might be one of the most popular golfers around, but he’s no longer a mainstream player on the Tour. Indeed, while other golfers tee up at the Masters Tournament next week, the Augusta National will sorely miss the presence of ‘Long John’. However, the 56-year-old has decided to prepare for the inaugural major championship in his own, unique way.
John Daly surprises fans ahead of the Masters Tournament
In his famed career, Daly has won two major championships, the 1991 PGA Championship, and the 1995 Open Championship. The victories helped him participate in the Masters in the early 2000s, but his time at the prestigious tournament has gradually faded away.

Daly’s last appearance at the Masters came back in 2006. To add salt to his wounds, the five-time PGA Tour winner has only made the cut once in the event since the turn of the century.

However, that didn’t stop him from offering his fans a chance to win a box of Georgia-grown Bermuda grass, which is found in and around the Augusta National. In the video, Daly claimed that the product would enhance the Masters experience for fans watching from home, before concluding with his classic tagline. “Just grip it and rip it. See you in Georgia.”

Apart from that, Daly also provided a quick brief about his personal choices while viewing the Masters Tournament. “Two things to have by your side while watching the action at Augusta next week: 1) A cold bevvy 2) A box filled with some Georgia-grown Bermuda grass, pine boughs and azaleas, so it’s like you’re actually there,” he claimed through the caption,

The 56-year-old also used the opportunity to address the situations of allergies and swelling during a golf session, for which he recommended a product. The move captured many people’s concerns, who complained about the issues they faced while golfing, through the comments section.

Despite being well past his prime, Daly remains one of golf’s most popular players. It is apparent through his endorsement deals, even though he isn’t competing in the highest field. However, watch out for a fit Daly in the PGA and the Open Championship later this year.
