JT Meets JT: Justin Thomas Meets an Adorable Service Dog Named in His Honor

If you love wholesome content, the Players Championship Instagram page will not disappoint you. With the event’s 2022 edition about to begin, they shared some photos and videos of Justin Thomas meeting a service dog named after himself.

It goes without saying that fans adored the recent ‘JT meets JT’ interaction. The PGA Tour star is already closely connected to dogs, and never fails to update followers with a picture or two.

After Thomas‘ 2021 Players Championship victory, a service dog was named to honor him. This year, the 28-year-old finally met the dog.

Players participating in the tournament are currently in Florida, where the event begins on March 10th.

That being said, the Players’ social media page chose to share a few clips of Thomas with the dog, which were just as adorable as one might expect. “Hi buddy,” Thomas says as he walks up to the dog, asking him how he is doing.

Off-camera, someone explains that his name is JT. “This is JT, the K9s for Warriors service dog. Named in your honor, of course,” they said. Thomas seems visibly delighted at the news as he gets down to pet JT a little more. Additionally, they also reveal that JT was rescued in Jacksonville last year.

Which dog does Thomas have?

One look at Thomas’ Instagram page, and you know how much he loves his pooch named Franklin. A part of his family, the 28-year-old often shared photos and videos starring Franklin. Furthermore, Franklin and his fiancee Jillian Wisniewski often come to cheer Thomas on at events.

In fact, videos of Thomas and Franklin interacting on the course have previously gained a lot of attention.

That being said, Thomas will play the Players Championship following the Genesis Invitational. Thomas had finished sixth at Riviera, making it his fourth Top 10 finish of the season. Of course, owing to his victory last year, all eyes will be on Thomas during the 2022 edition.
