The USA is on a mission to break their thirty-year-old curse of not winning an away Ryder Cup. US team captain Zach Johnson has picked an incredibly strong squad that boasts battle-worn veterans as well as rising stars. Jordan Spieth, one of the former, is jointly the most experienced player in the squad, along with Ricky Fowler. Let’s take a peek into the five-time Ryder Cup star’s armor ahead of the tournament.

The US golfer uses an all Titelist kit. Their $5 million agreement was signed in 2015. The Texan, last year, agreed to a four-year extension to an initial ten-year deal. Which means, not just in this year’s Ryder Cup, but in the next few years’ US squad, should he be selected, fans will see him sporting Titelist clubs.

According to Golfmagic, for drivers, the 3x major winner uses a Titleist TSR2 driver with a Fujikura Ventus Blue 6 X shaft to shoot the ball as far as possible towards the green. This comes at a price of $599.99.

Once the ball is off the tee, Spieth sports a Titleist TSR3 fairway wood (15°) with a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Blue 75 TX shaft. Priced at $349, this 3-Wood is what Spieth puts his faith in to take precise shots on par 5’s on courses or chip the balls from near-roughs towards the green.

The US golfer feels the need for only one club to bridge the gap between 3-irons and woods with the $279.00-worth Titleist TSi2 hybrid (21°). Moreover, Spieth’s trusted irons are Titleist T100 irons (4–9) with True Temper Project X 125 6.5 shafts. Notably, its design was done closely in consultation with major PGA and LPGA golfers, Spieth included. No wonder the former World No. 1 is trusting this iron, priced at $1302. Moreover, his teammate Justin Thomas also uses the same iron.

In tricky situations such as hitting the ball from a sand bunker or for ascending chip shots, Spieth uses two wedges: the Titleist Vokey Design $179 SM9 and the $225 Titleist Vokey Design WedgeWorks Proto with Project X 125 6.5 and Project X 120 6.0 shafts, respectively.

Interestingly enough, despite using an all-titleist set, Spieth still uses the same putter since he was a junior golfer. For the soft, gentle strokes to hole the ball, Spieth puts his faith in the Scotty Cameron 009 prototype, priced at $7499.99. This is the very same putter that helped him bag the 2011 U.S. Junior Amateur title and, eventually, 13 PGA Tour events, including three majors. No wonder he is banking on this putter for this year’s Ryder Cup as well.

Spieth, despite having a rather tough year, has found himself in the Ryder Cup squad again thanks to captain Zach Johnson’s nod. Although the US swaggered to a comfortable victory with a record-breaking 19-9 finish last time, the 13-time PGA Tour winner believes unless the USA wins a Ryder Cup on the road, their supremacy won’t be solidified.

Speaking about it in a recent press conference ahead of the Ryder Cup, the veteran golfer said, “I said it at Whistling Straits… I said that this is really nice, but until we win one over there, nobody can talk about a change in the Ryder Cup.” Europe, this time having the home soil advantage and the backing of the fans, will try everything in their power to make it doubly harder.
