The PGA Tour has finally returned to the Riviera Country Club for the Genesis Invitational this year. The course has been held in high regard by fans and players, with everyone looking forward to a fun time in California. Jordan Spieth who is off to an amazing start at the tournament seems to be all praises for the course.
Spieth is playing the Genesis Invitational after the Waste Management Phoenix Open and is looking eager to take home a win.
Having said that, the course might be a big contributor to Spieth’s performance.

Fans react to Jordan Spieth’s comments on the Riviera Country Club
By the looks of it, Spieth is extremely happy about having returned to California. According to the 28-year-old, Riviera is probably one of the top three courses in the world.“If not even higher,” Spieth added.

Spieth’s comments seem to have prompted a strong reaction from fans, who looked eager to discuss their favorite course. While Riviera is indeed iconic, not everyone has to agree with Spieth.

Some fans agreed that while the course was really fun, it was not a top-five for them. Many discuss that subjectivity is an important factor, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Of course, fans did point out that Golf Digest ranks Riviera fourth in California.
Most fans seemed to share their own experience about the course which brings along a rich history.

He added that it is indeed a rare week for players, as you cannot just fire at the flagsticks. “And it’s such a different experience from what we normally have on tour, where you’re use to 20-, 25- under winning, where you get away with short-siding yourself because guys’ short games are so good. But here, it just doesn’t happen”.
