Jordan Spieth will be returning on the greens at the Valero Texas Open as the former champion. But what also returns is his larger-than-life gesture from 2021, the same year he won the Texas Open. The PGA Tour shared the snippets from their interaction and took us back on the route down memory lane when Spieth fulfilled a fan’s dream.

In 2021, Kendall Ramos was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, which resulted in her femur being amputated. Ramos had to learn how to walk again with the amputation and during that period, she grew an interest in golf. She wanted to learn the new skill and as her favorite golfer, who could be better than Spieth to teach her? The PGA Tour shared the video from three years ago on Instagram and how Ramos met with the pro at Shadows Creek, making it a day she’ll never forget.

The 3-time major winner taught the 14-year-old how to shoot and by the third time, she made immense progress. During the session, Spieth also encouraged her to pursue golf at the University of Texas. He said, “As you keep getting better, you need to visit the University of Texas because I wanna see you playing golf for them some day now.”

To add to her special day, Kelly was also gifted a golf cart by Valero and a sponsored bag by Titleist. Ramos was extremely grateful for her wish being fulfilled. The heartwarming interaction of Spieth with Ramos showed another side of the pro that the golf world absolutely loved.

The fan interaction truly gave an introspection of who Jordan Speith is. It also made this user quite emotional as they saw Ramos’s wishes come true, as they said, “Anyone cutting onions?” And the kind gesture by Spieth also touched their heart, making them say, “I mean @jordanspieth is the ultimate role model.”

Another user loved Kelly Ramos’s spirit despite her battles. They called out, “What a young lady – she’s a star!” What stood out was Spieth as he tried to make her day better, this made the user love Spieth more than they ever did. Expressing the love, they said, “And I love Jordan Spieth even more than I did five minutes ago.”

This isn’t the first time Spieth has spent time with a young fan. Previously, at the 50th PLAYERS, he also met with a fan suffering from leukemia and played golf with him. These recent instances have made Spieth one of the nicest pros on the Tour. This fan iterated the same and said, “Speith is just an elite bloke. Easily the nicest fella on tour.”
