It was not what anybody wanted. However, it did happen! Tom Brady announced his retirement from the NFL. He had been a star quarterback for over two decades and is widely considered the GOAT of the NFL. Many sports entities, including Bryson DeChambeau and Jordan Spieth, shared their immediate thoughts on the retirement news.

Bryson Dechambeau took to social media to share his thoughts on the 7x Super Bowl Champion’s retirement. The 28-YO shared his experience of playing golf with Brady at The Match IV. DeChambeau also agreed that it was an honor to play next to a legend. He further added that Tom is an inspiration to everyone across all the sports and extended best wishes to the Brady family.

Apart from his social media post, Bryson also commented on Brady’s retirement post on Instagram. He wrote, “The (goat emoji). Sad to see you go, but what an amazing story and journey you are able to share. Congratulations on everything and enjoy the next chapter.”

The retirement news of Tom Brady came as a surprise to Jordan Spieth

As Under Armour ambassadors, Jordan Spieth and Brady have maintained a close relationship with each other. However, in the press meet before AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the golfer admitted that the retirement news of Brady was a big surprise for him.

He expressed, “I was actually a bit surprised just because of the level that he’s still playing at.” The 28-YO, who knows Brady all too well, couldn’t guess the goat would be taking the decision this soon. Spieth further commented that with Tom’s level of competitiveness, he should find another hobby soon, or he might go crazy.

“His priorities are going to be with his family,” Spieth added. The quarterback is a family guy and might have stepped down from his position since he doesn’t want to miss any memorable moments from his kids’ lives.

Jordan further added that he gets motivation from Brady since the former Patriot/Buccaneer athlete does not boost one’s confidence at their good times but will be a call away when one faces bad days.

Spieth even noted that Brady’s book, TB12 Method, has been a big motivation for him, and he is reading the book for a second time now. He agreed that the book changed many perspectives. 

Brady has been an inspiration for all. It was indeed a surprise when he announced his retirement. However, if Tom Terrific thinks it is the right time for him to leave the NFL, all we can do is support his decision. We wish him nothing but the best for his future endeavors.
