At 30, Jon Rahm has achieved most of what an average American might dream of. A Green Jacket, a US Open silverware, a Ryder Cup—the list goes on. But guess what? The Spanish International has yet to tick off some boxes that many of us won’t even make a checklist for. Say something like visiting Wendy’s?
Thanks to Bod Does Sports, we have now seen a different side of Jon Rahm. The LIV Golf pro partnered with Bob Does Sports for a unique challenge. The goal was to break 60. That is to say, devouring 60 tacos in a 9-hole round. There were four of them, and Rahm helped big time, guzzling 19 himself. Yes, nineteen and not nine.
Prodigious eater, you say? Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Rahm has skipped on these junk food luxuries. Would you believe it if we said the two-time major champion doesn’t know the taste of Taco Bell’s food? The Spanish International just casually dropped that information while driving a cart. And more. “So many places I’ve never been to. Never been to Wendy’s.”

Robby Berger’s eyebrows were raised higher than yours. He broke the news to his teammates. Fat Perez looked down and muttered, “That’s an issue.” They quizzed Rahm on a hoard of other fast food chains. More surprises. Here is how that conversation went with his Bob Does Sports teammates:
Boys: Arby’s
Rahm: No
B: How about Carl’s Jr?
R: No
B: Hardee’s?
R: No
B: Checkers?
R: I don’t know what that is. (!)
B: Sonic?
R: Yes, once.

Well, let’s put it this way: Jon Rahm has a lot of catching up to do. But given the Spaniard’s penchant for fitness, it’s unlikely that Rhambo will munch on Arby’s beef n’ cheddar or Checker’s Bacon Bufford Burger anytime soon.
Jon Rahm’s diet over the years
Rahm’s diet and gym routine have significantly changed over the years as he elevated his status from a sensational amateur to a stupendous pro golfer. Rahm told CBS Sports in 2017, “Once I turned professional, I did visit a nutritionist. We did a blood sample to do a sensitivity test to see what my body was reacting to and wasn’t processing properly. It turned out it was a lot of things I ate very often that I shouldn’t eat.”

So what does he eat? “I do have a lot of eggs,” the former Masters champion told Golf.com. That, and some ham, and turkey. “Not bacon usually. Just… it’s so greasy that… it depends on the day.” On the course, the man of 6’2” carries a bag of almonds, pistachios, peanuts, coconut chips, walnuts, apricots, etc.
In another interview with the Men’s Journal last year, Jon Rahm added more details. “I’ll do a sandwich with gluten-free bread, turkey, cheese, lettuce, and mustard. I’ll have about three of those packed to eat over the course of the day. I’ll also have a banana in the pack as a pick-me-up.” Well, the need of a professional athlete is to stay fit. Jon Rahm is sure doesn’t regret skipping on these American delicacies that boys on the Bob Does Sports mentioned.
