Is Jon Rahm's gear setup the secret to his success, or is it all about his skill?

Like a sorcerer’s bag of potions, the bags of pros hold the ingredients for their magic on the greens—their well-thought-out equipment. From irons to woods and to wedges, each piece allows the golfer to do something different. So, now that you know how essential the right equipment is, are you eager to find out what Jon Rahm will have in his bag for the LIV Golf’s Individual championship in Chicago? After the kind of season he has had after he switched leagues for over $500 million, all the eyes are on him.

Who sponsors Jon Rahm’s arsenal?

I don’t know what the hell they have done, but it feels amazing,” says Jon Rahm about his equipment sponsor, Callaway’s equipment. The Spaniard joined the Callaway team in 2021. Not only is it quite a statement, but it is also quite an endorsement. At the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions, he used the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Driver with a Fujikura Ventus Black 7X shaft with a 10.5-degree loft to secure the win. He still uses this one, and it is priced at $599.99. The driver is known for delivering excellent control.

He also used the $349.99 Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond Fairway Woods with a 16-degree loft and a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8X shaft during the 2023 Masters Tournament, where he incidentally won his first green jacket. This Fairway Woods is still in his bag and it helps Rahm to work the ball precisely,  and have faster swing speeds for a penetrating ball flight with a lower spin.

Starting at $1505 apiece, the pro uses Apex Pro Irons featuring a True Temper Dynamic Golf Mid 115 shaft. This allows him to have improved turf interaction and better contact while providing exceptional distance. What other equipment does the Spaniard have in his bag for the Chicago showdown?

Rahm’s playing style and how his clubs help

For navigating challenging greens and bunker shots, Ram used the Jaws Raw Face Chrome Wedges 52° (10), 56° (12), 60° (10), costing $149.99. He also uses the Ai-ONE Rossie S Putter, priced at $299.99. This helps him to achieve significant toe hang best suited for strokes with more face rotation and arc.

Lastly, he uses the most advanced set of golf balls that Callaway makes to ensure performance—the Chrome Tour X Golf Balls. At $54.99, it is only engineered for players who want to extract the most out of their equipment. For his apparel, he relies on TravisMathew. “I’m really pleased to begin the next chapter of my career as a part of this team with TravisMathew. “Everything TravisMathew makes is lightweight with stretch, providing a lot of comfort. I really feel confident playing in TravisMathew apparel and can’t wait to wear it off the course as well,” said Rahm at the time of collaboration.

Sometimes the finest of margins determines the winner and loser in a precise sport like golf. From precise control for approach shots with irons to stability and precision with putters, each club is an important part of a golfer’s game. Rahm’s arsenal will certainly make him the one to look out for at the 2024 LIV Golf Chicago. What do you think of Rahm’s equipment? Let us know in the comments!
