Will Jon Rahm win another major in 2025? The 30-year-old is one of the best golfers in the world at the moment. Before moving to LIV Golf in 2024, he had come off an incredible season in the PGA Tour winning the Masters Tournament and a few other titles. He also captured The Sentry, the American Express, and the Genesis Invitational in 2023 to end the season with 4 titles. No wonder he gained so much attention from Greg Norman & Co.
In fact, LIV Golf added another team to their roster to allow Jon Rahm to pick and captain his own side. The Spaniard called upon Tyrrell Hatton, Kieran Vincent, and Caleb Surratt to form the Legion XIII in 2024. Within their first year in the league, the team performed extremely well finishing at the top of the leaderboard. Rahm himself topped the individual standings thanks to his scintillating strokeplay all year long. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that fellow LIV Golf pro, Kevin Na, backs the Spanish swinger to make it big in the majors this year.
Speaking to GolfMonthy, Na had shared his hopes of winners of LIV Golf events qualifying for the majors. He mentioned how he can foresee the officials bringing in such qualifications considering that LIV Golf only has more than 13 events in a season. The Korean golfer went on to elaborate on how the Saudi-based promotion has so many amazing talents with emphasis on Joaquin Niemann particularly. Having such players in the majors will only benefit the tournament.

Kevin Na said, “Winners should be exempt, and I think you take the top-16 players or so. I think if you have a season and you finish inside the top-16, you should be exempt into all four Majors,” sharing how qualification from LIV Golf should work. That’s when he also added, “Plus, you’re going to have multiple winners, so you’ll only get 10 guys who win a tournament in a year. And you know Jon Rahm is going to win one!” This shows how much Na believes in Jon Rahm to make such bold claims even before the LIV Golf season has begun.
But it doesn’t seem like he will be joined by all of his fellow winners from the LIV Golf season this year. Let’s see why that won’t be possible.

Why other LIV Golf players can’t participate in the majors like Jon Rahm?
LIV Golf officials, players, and fans were hopeful that as the merger gets closer, they will finally get to earn OWGR points to officially qualify for the majors. However, those hopes were crushed after the major announcement made by the world ranking officials a few days ago. According to reports, Trevor Immelman will be taking over as the chairman of OWGR starting from April 2025. Why that is bad news? Well, Immelman is not a big fan of the PIF-funded circuit.
The former Masters Tournament winner has been quite vocal about his disregard for LIV Golf. He has also stated that the Saudi-based promotion is hindering the progress of the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour. Even when Greg Norman had praised Immelman and his 1998 Presidents Cup team on X, the South African pro simply replied with a “Lol” showing his disregard for anyone associated with LIV Golf. So once he sits at the helm, it will be difficult to imagine how LIV Golf would be able to win him over to get recognized by the OWGR.
