At the Andalucia Masters in October, Jon Rahm opened with a seven-over-78, which led to him failing to make the cut. Following that, he is currently on a four-week break after posting the highest score of his professional career. Rahm’s making the most of his time off from the sport and he was most recently spotted on a football field!

This year has been a dramatic one for the 26-year-old. He became a father in April, tested positive for covid-19 a couple of months later, and was forced to withdraw from a tournament, came back the same month to bag his first ever major title at the U.S. Open.

The year was not over! Again, he tested positive for the virus. And at the Ryder Cup, he gave one of the best performances from Team Europe and went 3-1-1.

Rahm said, “More than my body, it is my mind that can’t take it… This is the first time in my life that I don’t want to see a golf club. And this comes from someone who loves this sport, and after a year in which some pretty good things have happened to me.”

Jon Rahm attends a Sun Devil and Trojans football match

Rahm, an Arizona State University alum, watched a highly anticipated football match between the Arizona State Sun Devils and USC Trojans. In a video recorded by Rahm, he says, “Great to be back here.” He is accompanied by Nick Kelly and the two of them cheer for their team, saying, “Go Devil’s!”

A packed stadium is seen in the background of the video. And oddly enough, something strange happened at the match. During the first quarter of the game, a fox ran across the field! And we now know, the Devils went on to beat the Trojans 31-16.

In another picture, Rahm is shown flashing his U.S. Open trophy to the crowd, probably after his team’s win. What a night it must’ve been for the professional golfer, to witness his favored team go on to win a match.

Anyway, it seems like the break is benefiting Rahm. And hopefully, when we see him in action next, he is fully recovered to play like the best golfer in the world!
