Another fire is igniting in the golf world, and the fans are hooked! The Individual Championship is just around the corner and will be starting on September 13. The game at the Bolingbrook Golf Club is exciting for two main reasons: the incredible trophy and Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann’s race to the top!

Fans always believed that Jon Rahm was not happy with LIV Golf, and as always, they have the solution for that as well, and that is for the golfer to win a tournament, which hasn’t been possible yet. However, Rahm has a pretty good chance of taking home the Individual Championship’s trophy. How? Well, Rahm is currently in the lead with 195.17 points, but Niemann is also not far behind in the race with 192.20 points. The competition is brutal and tough, with Rahm ahead by a mere 2.97 points.

Niemann posted a video of him showcasing his exceptional golf skills on Instagram with the caption, “As many reps as it takes and as long as it takes, hard work ALWAYS pays off 🔥Important weeks coming up, vamos @torquegc_ 💪🏼”. The caption is enough to prove that the competition is going to cutthroat.

Both golfers have had an incredible season. Rahm, who is a newcomer to LIV Golf, has won one tournament and finished in the top 10 in every event he’s played. Niemann, who is a seasoned LIV pro, has won two tournaments and even shot a remarkable 59 in one round. The golfer was leading the game up until LIV Golf Jeddah, but then Rahm took him over in LIV Golf Greenbrier.

Niemann knows he needs to bring his A-game if he wants to catch up. “He’s been playing great lately, so he’s probably going to keep doing the same,” Niemann said, talking about his rival’s game, according to LIV Golf’s official website. “I’ve got to try to bring my ‘A’ game.” Rahm is under a lot of pressure right now because of the fans’ expectations. “I’m probably going to need to win, he’s going to be up there. I’m going to need another good week,” he said, speaking about Niemann. But how will Rahm secure this win?

Jon Rahm is on the cusp of winning the Individual Championship, but he will need to finish strong in Chicago if the golfer wants the victory to his name. To take the title, Rahm must finish ahead of or tied with Joaquin Niemann, because if he achieves this, he’ll secure the championship regardless of the exact position.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Jon Rahm silence his critics, or will Joaquin Niemann steal the spotlight in Chicago?

Have an interesting take?

However, if Niemann finishes higher, Rahm’s chances of taking home the trophy will slip away, so it’s safe to say that the pressure is on big time! But with Rahm’s amazing consistency in the 2024 season by finishing in the top 10 in every event he has participated in, the golfer is pretty confident. So do you think he can hold off Niemann and win the championship? Let us know in the comment section below!
