Is the PGA Tour deliberately erasing Jon Rahm's legacy to undermine LIV Golf's credibility?

We all know the fans just need a small thing to start a whole controversy, but this time they may be right. The PGA Tour has a habit of steering controversies between the golfers, and their latest Instagram is the proof. The fire from the President Cup selection was just getting to cool down. And now, the PGA Tour dropped yet another bombshell, and the golf fans just needed a little spark to ignite a whole bonfire.

In the latest post made by the PGA Tour on their Instagram, fans got to see the top golfer who had the most victories under their belt since the 2022 season. The golfer who leads the pack is—we think the name is pretty obvious. Yes, you guessed it right. Scottie Scheffler is leading the chart with 13 victories; hot on his heels is Rory McIlroy with 6. Next in the lines are Xander Schaueffle and Tony Finau with 5 and 4 wins. Now you’ll say, ‘Where is the problem here?’ Well, there is one.

Fans were quick to notice that Jon Rahm’s name was missing from the list when he had quite a run in the last year. Jon Rahm’s 2022-2023 season was a remarkable display of his dedication and passion for golf. He won four big tournaments: the Masters Tournament, The Genesis Invitational, The American Express, and The Sentry Tournament of Champions. His success didn’t start there. In the 2021-2022 season, he won the Mexico Open at Vidanta.

Fans were furious as to why the golfer was overlooked despite having 4 PGA Tour wins and one major win under his belt. And we all know what happens when a heap of fans is furious.

Fans comment on the latest PGA Tour post

Disappointed fans went feral in the comment section, reminding the PGA Tour to revise their counting. “Rahm should be on there,” said one fan. And indeed he should be. Rahm has been visibly performing exceptionally well in the last few years, as we specified above. The LIV golfer is ruling the Saudi-backed league as well. Rahm’s 2024 season saw the golfer win the LIV Golf UK with an incredible score of 13 under par. Not only that, he has not one but 8 top-10 finishes, which ultimately makes him one of the best golfers out there. “@pgatour Rahm has 5 since 2022? 🤷🏻‍♂️”, said another fan, adding fuel to the fire.

Is the PGA Tour deliberately erasing Jon Rahm's legacy to undermine LIV Golf's credibility?

Have an interesting take?

“Jon Rahm erasure,” wrote one fan. While the comment might be simple, it speaks volumes and holds the officials accountable for missing Rahm from the list. While a lot of fans were sad to not see Rahm, some were surprised to see Tony Finau there. “Surprised about Tony but love to see it,” said one fan. Honestly, it shouldn’t be a surprise considering that the golfer has been upping his game in the last few years. Finau won the 2023 Cadence Bank Houston Open, 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta, 2022 3M Open, and 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic, totaling 4 PGA TOUR victories, which deserves applause.

This fan took time to congratulate the golfer while the others were busy pointing out the mistakes. “Hit fairways and greens. Well done guys.” Well done might be an understatement here. The golfers are some of the best golfers in our industry now, and now the wait is palpable as to who will win the 2024 Presidents Cup. Do you have any guesses?
