John Daly is one of the prominent names in the golfing world. He recently competed in the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills. However, Daly used a golf cart to compete and avoided walking as he usually does on the Champions Tour as well. Moreover, this move attracted a few critics, as Tiger Woods, who is still recovering from an injury, did not ask for a cart and walked the entire course for three days.

Furthermore, as the injury escalated, Woods had to withdraw from the event after playing 54-holes. Meanwhile, John Daly revealed the reason for Tiger’s miserable performance at the 2022 PGA Championship. “I guarantee you that if Tiger used a cart this week, he’d be on the leaderboard,” revealed Daly.

However, Tiger Woods had denied a few months back that he won’t be using a golf cart in a professional tournament. “That’s just not who I am. That’s not how I have always been, and if I can’t play at that level, I can’t play at that level,” said Woods. Hence, even though he was facing difficulties while walking from day one, he did not request a golf cart.

Furthermore, the pain and injury escalated after round three due to the weather conditions and exertion. Hence, Tiger withdrew from the event. Meanwhile, if walking was an issue, Woods could have easily requested a golf cart and completed 72 holes. But as said above, he believes if he can’t compete at that level, he won’t.

Additionally, walking is an integral part of the challenges on the course. A player gets plenty of time where he needs to stay in the zone and not lose his focus while walking toward the ball.
