He usually makes headlines for his unhealthy addictions, but recently has been in the news for his brave fight against cancer. The 56 year old hasn’t been lucky when it comes to his relationships and marriages, but he adores his children very much.

Many controversies, like his addiction to alcohol and gambling, have surrounded John Daly. But his pet peeve is something that has not been discussed much, and it is more interesting because it involves his kids.

Daly’s son, John Patrick Daly II aka Little John Daly, is a silent personality when he faces the camera. He is growing to become a great golfer. Daly loves his kids, and he makes sure they are being raised right, so there is one quality that he wants his kids to have and that is honesty.

And teaching honesty is Daly’s pet peeve! He once said that he does not care what his kids do. They have can all the fun they want, but the only rule of the house is that they are honest with him. He even said that he has always been quite vocal about the importance of honesty. 

Daly has always being transparent about everything, be it his separations, his addictions, or his battle with cancer. Going with that logic, Daly supposedly believes that ‘dishonesty’ isn’t the right trait to have. Therefore, that might be a reason behind the pet peeve. And that is why he wants his kids to learn it and incorporate it in their lives.

The Claret Jug winner has three kids: John Patrick Daly II, Sierra Lynn Daly, and Shynah Hale Daly. Little John is the youngest of all and has a passion for golf. The father-son duo have even played at PNC Championship together many times. And it was not just playing, they won the event in 2020.

Little John also plays college golf in Arkansas. It seems the son is following in his father’s footsteps and is on the path on becoming a great golfer. Daly talked about his son and said that he balances golf with school, and is passionate about it. He never misses playing in a tournament in the summer. Daly is proud that his son is focused on his studies and will be one day be a college graduate.
