But what is so surprising about Daly’s views on marriage?
John Daly spills his philosophy about ‘marriage’
In the episode, the hosts of the show asked Daly about his philosophy about marriage. With a pint of beer on the table and a cigarette in his hand, Daly answered, “It’s a license to hate somebody” leaving everyone awestruck. That was an answer unexpected from a man who has been married four times in his lifetime.
He further said, “If I got married in the 80s, that was the best women in the world; they cooked, they cleaned and they were loyal”. He added, “The 90s when I got married and stuff, all they cared about was having kids and dangling them over you for your divorce”

The golf star said that he wanted to marry someone like his mother. Daly’s idea of a perfect woman cooks, cleans, is loyal, and takes care of the family – just like his mother. But he might be ignorant to the fact that the era he is in is currently not a fit for such a mindset. No woman today would be bound to just cooking, cleaning, forced loyalty and being the sole member taking care of the family, and do nothing more with her life. Equality is the theme of the 21st century and more and more men have started to respect that fact in today’s age.

John Daly’s golden advice to his son
After his comments on marriage, he told the hosts what he taught to his son. He said, “I told my son, Little John, you do the opposite of daddy you’re going to be great.” He called his son “an angel” because he doesn’t drink or smoke. But Daly, on the other hand, has a routine of consuming a fixed amount of cigarettes and apple juice.
John Daly also recently gave his stance on the PGA versus LIV Tour drama and said he wants to continue playing on the PGA Tour. But only time will tell what the future holds for the golfer’s career.
