Does it really come as a surprise to hear that John Daly and Phil Mickelson absolutely love to play for money? However, we recently learned of a fact that might actually come as a little shock. The two have never played one another!
After his and his son’s record-breaking win at the PNC Championship this weekend, Daly appeared in an episode of the Full Send Podcast. Along with Bob Menery, Kyle Korgeard, and Salim Sirur, the two-time major winner discussed beating Team Woods, his past partying stories, and much more.

However, when the conversation came around to Phil Mickelson, Daly had a lot to say. Let’s take a look at what went down.
John Daly talks about Phil’s dominance on the senior tour
Menery says that Mickelson makes a lot of extra cash by playing ‘side money’ games. He then asks Daly whether he has ever indulged in them. He said, “Yeah, plenty of them! Phil gets it. I mean, if I can have a chance to pair up with my buddies and beat Phil, I don’t have to pay him for an Audi.”
On this note, he gets asked whether he has ever played him. He replies, “No, he won’t play me… No, he won’t play me!” He reiterated with a shake of the head and wave of the hand.

Menery, however, doesn’t budge from the topic. He adds on, “He has a piece of that match thing, he should get you involved in that.” Daly is quick to interject by saying, “He’s never invited me! Why? Phil, are you scared? No, he ain’t scared of me. That kid is so good. He’s still a kid, by the way.” And for the sake of it, we’ll have you know that Daly is exactly four years older than Phil. We wonder which way he meant it in!
Moreover, over confusion regarding the $9 million prize money in Capital Ones ‘The Match’, Daly said, “I actually haven’t talked to Phil about it because the senior tour, he just kicks everybody’s ass right now when he plays!”

Well, that last part sounds about right. Phil is too busy climbing the ladder to succeed on the senior tour to wonder about anything else. What do you think?
