How much does a partner's support impact an athlete's performance? Look at Koepka and Sims!

The Koepka family seems to be in a quagmire of sorts! On one hand, there is Brooks Koepka who was faced with an incomplete team at a point in time for the upcoming LIV Golf event in Greenbrier, courtesy of his teammate Graeme McDowell. And on the other hand, his wife, Jena Sims also doesn’t appear to be in the best of conditions.

The LIV Golf Pro’s wife shared a couple of stories on her Instagram handle divulging her state of mind. “I haven’t had a second to even think about posting Croatia pics,” wrote Sims in her story, “but when I’m not overstimulated and over-caffeinated and over-tired, it’ll be over!!” Interestingly, Koepka and his wife had, a while back, spent their vacation exploring Croatia during the ‘Paris Olympics’ break that the athlete got owing to him not competing at the same.

The actress then shared how she mistook a hair product for another owing to her current situation. “Speaking of being tired and overstimulated,” added the athlete’s wife, “I thought I was putting dry shampoo in my hair and instead it’s hair spray.” She also made sure to add how “fun” it was, albeit sarcastically.

Well, the 35-year-old hasn’t been having the best of times recently. She had, just a few days back, taken to her social media handle to share an experience she had with Amazon’s teacher wish list feature. “What I’m finding is that some of these, like third-party vendors,…  I don’t know where it is,” explained Brooks Koepka’s partner, “They’re not allowing me to ship to the registry address. So whenever I check out, I’m just removing the thing.”

Although she was faced with such a frustrating issue, the golfer’s wife made sure to express her optimism in finding a solution. She said, “It’s not as easy as it was in years past. So I’m gonna, it’s gonna take me a second. But fear not, I’m getting through this,” while hoping for the best. This exact hope is what Brooks Koepka might need at LIV Golf Greenbrier if his team is to come first, despite the recent hurdle, all thanks to McDowell.

Brooks Koepka finds himself in a tight spot

LIV Golf Pro and Smashers GC team member Graeme McDowell failed to pass the drug test that was administered at the LIV Golf Nashville event back in June. Consequently, he has been banned from competing in the upcoming event that is set to take place at The Old White at Greenbrier. Moreover, he was also fined a hefty penalty of $125,000 for falling short of the PIF-funded circuit’s anti-doping rules.

“I was selected for a random test as part of the league’s anti-doping program,” said the Northern Irishman while recounting how he tested positive for levo-methamphetamine. “I had mistakenly used an over-the-counter medicated decongestant stick for congestion that included a banned substance, resulting in a positive test.” Nevertheless, the golfer took full responsibility for his actions before expressing remorse for the situation.

Fortunately, the professional will be replaced by John Catlin, per reports. And Brooks Koepka’s team will hope to find themselves back in rhythm despite the absence of their precious teammate. But will they pull through? Only time will tell.
