In an interview with Taylor Zarzour, SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio, Jay Monahan talked about the FedEx Cup. He said, “This is the hardest trophy to win.”
There are many tough championships in golf, but the FedEx Championship stands as the strongest. In the past, the top 25 players competed in the FedEx St. Jude Championship. This got cut down to the top 70 players competing. After that, the top 50 players go to the next BMW Championship, and at the end, the top 30 players make it to the ultimate challenge in Atlanta for the Tour Championship.
Only after getting through these tough rounds can a player become the top challenger and win the big FedEx Championship trophy, he said.
