Xander Schauffele has had enough. He previously expressed his disagreements regarding the PGA Tour Commissioner, Jay Monahan’s conduct for the golf industry. With no news on the PGA Tour and LIV Golf merger finalization, the golf community has been torn for a while. They firmly suspect Monahan’s unrevealed deals with the LIV Golfer’s Saudi sponsor. Schauffele had previously expressed his intentions of not joining LIV Golf, however, he also explored the missing elements of the PGA Tour’s commander-in-chief’s stalling decision regarding the division.
Schauffele recently showed a far more frustrated outlook on the present PGA Tour leadership. He revealed to the sports reporter of the Times UK, Tom Kershaw his personal opinions about Monahan. He stated, “Throughout all of this turmoil, what’s probably bothered me the most — now more than ever — is that we need someone to lead us… Not once has our commander-in-chief stood up for all of us players…”
Revealing that the winner of the 2024 PGA Championship had cried in motel rooms, Kershaw also shared parts of the former’s opinion on his X handle. Xander Schauffele indicated how Monahan should take a stand for golfers, and try to stop them when they leave. Jon Rahm became one of the biggest names to defect in the past few months. He said, “He [Jay Monhan] didn’t take a stand when anyone left, he didn’t come out to the public and face the music, none of that… Historically in tough situations, you need a strong leader who can make the big waves smaller… Right now, we don’t have that.”

Previously as well, Schauffele opined about Monahan’s leadership, and how the merger news was handled, “I wouldn’t mind seeing some new leadership take place on our circuit. I would be lying if I said that I have a whole lot of trust after what happened. That’s definitely the consensus that I get when I talk to a lot of guys. It’s a bit contradictory when they call it ‘our Tour’ and things can happen without us even knowing.”
“It’s hard. I’m sure there are reasons for what happened, but at the same time, it puts us in a really hard spot to trust the leadership that did some stuff in the dark and is supposed to have our best interests at heart. It’s a bit sicky, and I am a bit in the dark still. I hate to sit here and hope for the best,” said Schauffele.
This tussle between LIV golfers and the PGA Tour has been ongoing, yet both the golfers and the golf fans are suffering with a stark, visible distinction. Schauffele’s pouring emotions about the downfall of the PGA Tour insinuates his belief in a dark future for the PGA Tour because he believes Jay Monahan is not doing a great job. But even under this authority, where does Schauffele see himself playing when a resolve between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour is nowhere to be seen?

Xander Schauffele’s opinion about LIV Golf
Xander Schauffele’s father, Stefan Schauffele, had instantly ruled out all the possibilities of his joining LIV Golf. He explained that Xander Schauffele plays golf only for legacy and never for money. The elder Schauffele thus previously declared, “Xander is not chasing the money. Xander is about legacy. And in my opinion, just as with his father, there was never a chance.”
The 2024 PGA Championship winner, Xander Schauffele, stayed intact with his dad’s statement even after being extremely dissatisfied with the PGA Tour’s authorities. He revealed, “I’ve shown up to play PGA Tour events week in, week out. I love my job; this is where I’m at, and I don’t really see myself going anywhere else.”

Even when he visited to hear out the perks of LIV Golf, he was not persuaded by it. Schauffele claimed, “I had to at least sit down and listen to what was being offered, but once I realized it wasn’t really going to fit in with how I envisioned my career, it just fizzled out.”
