Jason Day probably was never trolled much for his performance like he was for his outfits. The golf world had criticized the apparel he wore by Malbon Golf right and left. During the Open Championship, the fans called out Day for wearing some white track pants and a hoodie. This led to the fans calling the outfit “wacky” while one joked that Day was actually looking like a mountain snow leopard in the fit. That’s not all, the pro from Land Down Under was made fun of when he wore baggy pants at the Masters because it looked like a fashion statement from probably the 50s.
But after today, the 13-time PGA Tour winner will not be in the same place again at the Presidents Cup, at least not for his shoe choices. Day has received the three shoes he will be donning at the Royal Montreal Golf Club for the upcoming 14th Presidents Cup from his shoe partners, PAYNTR Golf. Day has taken an equity stake in the firm after moving out from Nike. The 36-year-old posted the three pairs on his Instagram and wrote, “Closer look at the amazing work @payntrgolf did for this weeks.”
There was one white and gold, high-top cleat shoes, another white shoe with golf and black, and one full black pair with hints of black and yellow, representing the International Team’s colors at the Presidents Cup. Seeing the pair for the first time, even Day was stunned. With his Australian accent, he couldn’t help but exclaim, “Dude, are you freaking kidding me? Holy mackle man.” He quickly tried it on and was mesmerized to pair it with Summit Golf’s Presidents Cup outfits.

The golf world praises Jason Day’s latest shoes
In an interview, Day revealed that he was not the one who chose his outfits for the events. Usually, the brand the golfer is associated with, in the case of Day, Malbon Golf, sends the outfits for each day and the Aussie pro just wears them on. However, they become the talk of the town each time, probably because the fans do not agree with the design. But this time they do as this fan said, “Finally some innovation so nice to see a company actually design something.”

Have an interesting take?
The first shoe that Jason Day tried on had a high-top cleat and a golden bottom with spikes. In lighting, the show looked truly apt for the Presidents Cup as it went well with the color scheme. Thus, moving away from the usual trend of criticizing Day’s fashion choices, this fan said, “Shoe 1 is legendary.” While another user was truly stunned by the shoes and exclaimed, “My bruddu.. Love from states. These go craaaaaazy.”

The love for Day’s pairs for the 14th Presidents Cup was not stopping. At the start of the year, Day faced extreme criticism for his attire. One time he was even likened to a clown but it is a massive U-turn from the golf world as they now approve of his choices. This fan said, “Drippiest golfer on the big tour.” Mind you, there are more than 100 golfers on the PGA Tour, so this is a huge compliment for the 36-year-old pro. Another commented on how Day always chooses the better and said, “Jason always gets the cleanest shoes.”
The question is if the golf world would like Jason Day wearing these shoes along with the Presidents Cup clothing. Although the shoes and clothes look good in themselves, it remains to be seen what the netizens will say when the Presidents Cup starts on September 26th.
