Jason Day has long been a prominent figure in professional golf, known for his early success and resilience. Turning professional as a teenager, Day quickly made his mark, earning a PGA Tour membership and claiming his first victory at the HP Byron Nelson Championship in just his third season. His career reached new heights in 2015, highlighted by five tournament wins, including his maiden major at the PGA Championship, and a rise to the #1 spot in the world rankings. Though his dominance continued into 2016 with victories such as The Players Championship, Day faced challenges in subsequent years,
seeing his form waver and his ranking slip outside the top 100.However, his inspiring resurgence in 2023, capped by a victory at the AT&T Byron Nelson and a return to the world’s top 20, underscores his determination and enduring talent on the course. But well, 2024 once again saw him drowning. With no wins, he only finished in the top 10 four times. Now the question is, will the 2025 season witness yet another excellent Jason Day year? Here are the types of equipment that might help him to get to the top.
As per Golfwrx, Jason Day’s primary equipment in the bag is his driver, the Ping G430 LST (9 degrees), which he uses with the Mitsubishi Diamana WB 63 TX shaft. Although he does not have a great driving average, his accuracy is commendable. With 60% driving accuracy, Day ranks 82 on the list. These are priced at $630. For the 3-wood, he uses the TaylorMade Qi10 (15 degrees) with the Mitsubishi Kuro Kage 80 X shaft. These help in giving him a lower spin rate, helping him gear up his game. These are priced at $399.
For the Irons, he prefers keeping two options. The TaylorMade P790 (2), which he uses with the KBS Tour Hybrid Prototype 105 S+ (2) shaft, and the TaylorMade P770 (4-PW), which he uses with the True Temper Dynamic Gold X Seven (4-PW) shaft. These are both priced at $1224, respectively. These help him to precisely control the ball’s trajectory and distance for shots from mid-range to the green. However, waht does he have to tackle the greens?

Just like the irons, Jason Day prefers having options for the wedges too. He has two of them, the Cleveland RTX 6 ZipCore Tour Rack (52-10 MID, 56-10 MID) and the Titleist Vokey Design WedgeWorks (60). He uses both of them with the True Temper Dynamic Gold X Seven. While the former is available at $195, the Titleist one is priced at $225.

Jason Day ranks in the top 100 among the PGA Tour pros when it comes to putting average. Although his short game requires a lot of improvement, at least his rank speaks volumes for him. He has been able to do this with his putter, the TaylorMade Itsy Bitsy Spider Limited. Once priced at $299.99, these are no longer available in the market. He completes his kit with the Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord grip and the Bridgestone Tour B X (with Mindset) ball, priced at $49.99
Even with high-quality equipment, does Day have what it takes to play his cards right in the 2025 season? What do you think about his game? Let us know in the comments section below!
