Jason Day will land in Tiburon Golf Club, paired with his LPGA counterpart, Lydia Ko to defend the Grant Thornton title. While Ko has had a fairytale-like (by her own admission) season, Day’s couldn’t have been any different. The former world no.1 made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. First, a jump from Nike to Malbon Golf was viewed with skepticism.

That gave way to ridicule and criticism when the world bore witness to Day’s latest outfit on the greens. Four top-tens, despite three of them coming at the $20M-purse Signature events, failed to deflate the scathing criticism Jason Day received for sporting those avant-garde outfits on the greens. There, however, is one person who might change that. His son: Arrow.

Remember last year? Day was standing by Lydia Ko on the greens. The tournament was over, they were about to receive the paycheck and lift the silverware. That’s when a kid just ran toward Day. It caught the attention of the presenter as well. She walked up to the kid and asked his name. “Arrow,” came the quick response. Day’s little kid was running around the green.

“I’m five years old,” said the kid raising his five fingers in the air. The presenter didn’t have to ask that one. She rather asked, “Do you play golf?” “I play golf at home,” Arrow responded. PGA Tour later released the clip (and re-released it). Fans loved it, no doubt. This is all the more reason to believe should we get a cameo from Arrow, netizens might just forget about his ‘parachute pants’, and ‘hideous’ outfits. Arrow, though, is Day’s third child. The Aussie has a family of five. 

What more do we know about Jason Day’s family? 

Jason Day got married to his long-time girlfriend, Elie in 2009, three years after they started dating. Day & Ellie share five children together, Dash, being the oldest. He was born in 2012. Three years later, they welcomed Lucy, and in 2018, Arrow was born. Arrow has a younger brother and a younger sister. In 2021, the Day family welcomed Oz, and in 2023, their fourth child and second daughter, Winnie was born. The entire family was present at the ANGC last year during the par-3 contest.

Besides the annual family event, Ellie is often seen outside the ropes cheering for her husband. She is the President of the Brighter Days Foundation, a company founded by Elie and her husband. They work with the local charities in and around Central Ohio, providing food, shelter, and items of basic needs to the homeless population. 

Last year, Arrow was present with his mother at Tiburon Golf Club. It remains to be seen if he or any of his siblings crashes the party. But for that to happen, Jason Day and Lydia Ko have to defend their title. The Grant Thornton Invitational will start on December 14.
