Although golf and high fashion don’t usually mix, and players keep it simple on the greens. However, at the 2024 Masters, they did so in a way that had everyone talking. Star golfer and Malbon Golf brand ambassador Jason Day was the target of controversy after showing up in several out-of-the-ordinary outfits throughout the competition.
Day kept his cool in the face of controversy, saying he was just comfortable in the attire and concentrated on the competition. He also revealed that his sponsors made the clothing choices, raising the possibility that he didn’t have much say in the matter. Interestingly, this begs the question – was there a benefit to Malbon’s brand image, or did the negative publicity around Day’s attire hurt it?

They went on to add, “if you saw someone wearing on the streets of New York Soho it wouldn’t be a deal at all. You’d be like oh that guy looks great with the fact that he is wearing it on tour I guess it really upsets people and I think it’s funny because you know people are really really rattled by it and I think that really shows how what Malbon’s doing you know is shaking things up.”
