Jake Knapp trusts his driver the most to ensure that he has made his ball halfway through improving his long game. He opts for the Taylormade M5 Fujikura Speeder Evolution 757 Tour Spec 77X Driver (9°) to do that. He uses it with the Project X HZRDUS T1100 95 6.5 shaft. He uses the TaylorMade Qi10 Fairway Wood (18°), with the Project X HZRDUS T1100 95 6.5 shaft. Jake Knapp’s companions for the greens

To keep his game on the greens strong, Jake Knapp opts for two different wedges. The first one is the PXG 0311 Sugar Daddy II (52°), which he uses with the KBS Tour C-Taper 130 X shaft. These are designed to give the perfect optimal bounce and absolute accuracy with fine-tuned stopping power. You can get hold of these at just $179.99.

The second one is the Titleist Vokey Design SM9 (56°), which he uses with the KBS Tour C-Taper 130 X shafts. Each Vokey wedge blends precision engineering with the artistry of craftsmanship. The SM9 wedges showcase the most advanced technology, designed to offer lower flight and higher spin. But it’s the unique grind on each wedge, crafted by Bob Vokey himself, that adds the creative touch that sets them apart.

Did Jake Knapp's gear make the difference, or was it pure skill that led to his 59?

Have an interesting take?

The last equipment on his bag is the PXG Prot Putter. But this surely was the equipment that changed his game at the Cognizant Classic! He recently changed to a new one. When asked about the change and how it impacted him during the post-round presser, he said, Just felt like I needed to feel something a little different, whether it’s for — in my head sometimes it’s for a couple of days or a couple of weeks or whatever it might be. But it was more strategic based on how I feel like my misses have been lately with the putter. I don’t think I’ve been putting terribly, just something feel-wise that I just felt like I needed to feel something different.” These help the player get more precision and confidence. No wonder Knapp was on fire during the opening round. These are priced at $299.99.
