We are all aware of how Greg Norman is fed up with the PGA Tour’s radio silence. Despite his efforts to reach out, they’ve reportedly ignored LIV Golf’s attempts to start a conversation. To make matters worse, the PGA Tour negotiated with the Public Investment Fund behind closed doors, shutting out LIV Golf altogether. No wonder tensions are running high between the two, with no solution in sight.
But Norman isn’t losing sleep over it. He’s remarkably bullish about LIV Golf’s future. “Time and patience is our greatest ally,” he says with confidence. And why not? In just three years, they’ve pulled off 36 tournaments, which is a no small feat! Considering the PGA Tour’s 56-year lead, Norman sees LIV Golf’s progress as nothing short of remarkable. Fast-forward a decade, and he predicts LIV Golf will be better than ever.
While we all wait for that to happen, it seems like Norman has struck back with the latest LIV Golf update. In the latest by LIV Golf Communications, the fans got to know that the Saudi-backed league has announced an expanded 2025 schedule, featuring two new tournaments. “League to host inaugural tournaments at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea and The Club at Chatham Hills in Indianapolis,” read the post from November 12. Now, while it is a big feat in itself and for the growth of the league, it is also a way for Norman to say that he is not one to back out.

Let us help you understand. Well, the Jack Nicklaus-designed course, once a prized destination for PGA Tour and DP World Tour events, has joined forces with LIV Golf, and tensions are running high. The PGA and DP World tours are taking a stand, halting events at the venue until the three tours iron out their differences. What adds fuel to the fire is Jack Nicklaus’ vocal opposition to LIV golfers. As the retired veteran hosted PGA Tour golfers at his Memorial Tournament last May (except those who moved to LIV), he stated, “I don’t even consider those guys part of the game anymore.”
I don’t mean that in a nasty way. This is a PGA Tour event and we have the best field we can possibly have for a PGA Tour event for those who are eligible to be here. The other guys made a choice of what they did and where they’ve gone and we don’t even talk about it,” he further added. Notably, even 2018 Memorial winner Bryson DeChambeau was absent from the event.
This fallout highlights the seismic impact LIV Golf is having on the golf landscape and, as it turns out, Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea is important for both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. Golfweek’s senior writer, Adam Schupak, tweeted on the matter and said that LIV Golf’s 2025 schedule has been released, and as a result, Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea is now off the Presidents Cup rotation. He also noted that Mayakoba, which had previously replaced its long-running PGA Tour event with LIV, will not be hosting a tournament, indicating that the partnership did not yield the desired outcome. “Guess we can take it off the Presidents Cup rota. Hosted in 2015. Also, no return to Mayakoba.”

“LIV Golf is growing across the globe in new and returning markets, and our 2025 schedule is a testament to that,” said Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman. The league, financed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, opens its fourth season with four consecutive international events. The schedule’s completion and potential merger talks with the PGA Tour remain ongoing, with LIV Golf’s first US event likely preceding the Masters in April. So are you excited?
