The Players Tribune posted a letter in 2019 written by Nicklaus, and it will leave your eyes teary. He started by writing a letter to 10-year-old Jack Nicklaus about how things were for him during his childhood. But the most revealing part of the letter was the creation of the PGA tour. He mentioned that one day, the retired golfer would realize that it was time to give back to the world. And that is when Nicklaus and his wife Barbara created a children’s hospital.

However, the letter also mentioned that he and his friend, Palmer, will collaborate and bring PGA Tour into action. And once it happens, both the pro golfers would realize how powerful love they were receiving back after the formation of the Tour. He wrote his ordeals, “You and that guy — yes, Arnie — will team up to help create something called the PGA Tour. You will start to see what a powerful vehicle the game you so love is for giving back.”

Nicklaus loved to golf with all his heart. Therefore, the creation of the PGA was a testament to his love for sports and other people. The 18-time major championship winner also mentioned in the letter that the American tour would stand firm for coming years and create considerable differences in the sport. And on one fine day, the circuit will surpass the charity funds raised.

The PGA tour would be made on competition among the game’s best; however, it will inspire others and bring a positive impact. He said, “That same Tour, led by the efforts of you and Arnie, will stand proudly more than 50 years later to say that it is about to surpass $3 billion in charitable fundraising.”And that is how Nicklaus gave back to the world in the form of the PGA and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
