According to the 73-time PGA Tour winner, Pebble Beach is the place he would pick to play one last round of golf. After all, he has a deep history with Pebble Beach and loves the course. “I’ve always said, if I had one round of golf I have left to play, I’d play it at Pebble Beach”.
“But in the US Open, any place is pretty good,” Nicklaus added. “I don’t think it makes a whole lot of difference what golf course it is”.

To those unaware, Pebble Beach Golf Links has been a US Open venue since 1972. Nicklaus has won the 1972 US Open and has also played at the venue otherwise. To him, it is his favorite place. One where you can drive through the forest, watch the ocean and also play on a really good golf course.
” I think the Monterey Peninsula is probably the most unique place in the United States for golf,” Nicklaus explained. He also thinks that it remains interesting with a variety of golf played.
