John Daly is famous for so many reasons among golf fans. From his colorful pants and outrageous outfits on the field to his gregarious lifestyle, fans dig everything about the golf ace. However, none of it leads the golfer to trouble except for one thing – his fearless and controversial statements.

There has hardly been an interview after which Daly has not made the news for saying something no one would have expected. And similarly, there was a time when he hit the headlines for calling out the PGA Tour for its allegedly no-so-random drug testing policy.

Daly was on SiriusXM’s “Hit It Hard with John Daly” when he was asked about the matter. And his claims about the PGA Tour’s reportedly unfair ways of testing players for drugs shocked his fans. When asked if the testing was random, Daly said“Not at all…”I’m gonna play at 1:50 on Friday, so they’re [going to] get me about 6:52, 7 o’clock.”

It turned out that the golfer knew exactly when he was going to be tested next. “It’s the biggest bulls—,” he added“I’m sorry, I’m gonna say it, fine me. I don’t care what you do, fix ’em right now, fine me, but I’m tired of it.”

Concluding his comments about the issue, Daly also called the whole drug testing policy “a big joke”. According to his claims, he was tested in every tournament no matter where he went. “I’m so sick of it being ‘random.’ It’s not random,” he stated.

However, the PGA Tour responded to the whole fiasco and said it was due to their “target testing” policy. As per their rules, the PGA Tour was allowed to test certain players based on their history. They also said that it was not right for them to publicly mention the names of those players. But on the other hand, they also said that based on Daly’s testing history, “it would appear we need to do so again”!
