No news in the world of golf goes past Paige Spiranac. The former pro loves to share her insights on every latest happening in the sport. With golf currently witnessing a cold war between PGA Tour and LIV Golf, Spiranac comments on her opinion on the massive changes made by the PGA Tour to overthrow their nemesis Tour.
The PGA Tour announced the starting of a new golf league named “TGL” in January of 2024. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have partnered with the Tour for the initiation of the golf league. The bold decision was taken by the 92-year-old Tour in response to LIV Golf, who have managed to grasp all of the top talents of the American Tour, thanks to its Saudi funding.
In “Playing A Round With Paige Renee”, a podcast hosted by Paige Spiranac, the influencer speaks her heart out with no barriers. During a recent episode of the podcast, Spiranac shared her thoughts on the PGA Tour’s announcement. Surprisingly, she wasn’t very happy with the Tour.

Paige Spiranac speaks on TGL
The topic of the PGA Tour’s new golf league was taken up on Spiranac’s podcast. As other speakers put forward their opinions on TGL, the 29-year-old talked about how she would be a lot happier with the Tour if they didn’t make the changes.

Paige Spiranac said, “I think that if they didn’t do anything different than what they were doing, and they were just continuing to be the PGA tour without trying to implement any changes without trying to show any panic, that would have been the more successful route for me, because I think now that you had to fly Tiger in and they’re trying to do basically what LIV is doing”.

Evidently, PGA Tour’s new measures were taken as a response to the lucrative Tour. Spiranac believes that the American Tour looked like they are afraid of LIV Golf after the new announcements. She also took a jab at the PGA Tour by saying to just combine themselves with their nemesis.
The 29-year-old said, “It’s like the PGA Tour saying we’re scared of LIV and we like their ideas. And at that point, why don’t you just combine the tours, and you can do that together kind of what we’ve talked about in previous episodes, but it just almost looks like the PGA Tour scared”.
Though PGA Tour is taking new efforts to compete against the lucrative Tour, Spiranac likes the old PGA Tour. However, as more competition arises among the Tours, more measures will be taken by each Tour to subdue one another. Whether Paige Spiranac is right in her opinion, only time will tell in the upcoming years.
