‘It’s Just So Terrible’: After Making , Dustin Johnson Oozes Sarcasm About LIV Golf

There was a lot of discussion surrounding Dustin Johnson regarding his choice to join LIV Golf. The professional golfer was thought to be a devoted PGA Tour supporter. But everything changes with time and Johnson’s earlier choice was no exception. He changed to LIV Golf and has continued to make continuous efforts in that direction ever since.

Months later, after making around $30M in less than 5 months, the pro golfer recently made a sarcastic remark about his experience with LIV. He was asked if it has met his expectations so far, the way he replied, however, became the talk of the town.

Is Dustin Johnson regretting his decision to move to LIV?

In an interview conducted at the LIV Golf Invitational Series currently taking place in Jeddah, Dustin Johnson was asked by an interviewer how he would describe the four-and-a-half-month journey he has had with LIV, and whether that has met his expectations.

How he tactfully answered that question was what garnered attention.

Dustin Johnson said in a sarcastic tone, “We talked about this yesterday. I really regret my decision to come here (tongue-in-cheek, teasing tone). It’s just so terrible (laughter). I’m sitting there last night thinking about it, it was really bothering me a lot (joking). Yeah, just can’t get over it.”

Dustin’s sarcastic reply probably brought smiles to a lot of faces. On a serious note, the pro golfer has been achieving success with his consistency and hard work at LIV ever since he joined. He has earned a hefty amount of around $30M in less than 5 months.

That is a seemingly large amount of money and clearly, one can not get over it.

Dustin adds another feather to his LIV Golf Cap

Dustin Johnson, the two-time major champion, once again added another accomplishment to his pre-existing list of achievements.

With consistency and hard work through the first six events, Johnson is now LIV Golf’s first season-long champion. This title brought a huge amount of $18 million prize for securing first place.

LIV Golf has a provision of providing points to the top 24 finishers in each tournament. Johnson’s consistency has made him the first person to turn this dream into a reality.

After having his name put in the records, Dustin Johnson gave a humbling response. He said, “It’s an honor to be LIV’s first individual season champion. I’d like to thank Greg Norman and LIV for their confidence in me, my brother and caddie Austin, my wife Paulina, my Four Aces teammates Pat, Patrick, and Talor, as well as LIV’s growing legion of fans around the world. Our team is in a really good position with two events to go and I’m looking forward to further contributing to LIV Golf’s exciting story and continued growth.”

Dustin Johnson is probably right, with the amount of consistency he has been putting in the game, LIV does have an exciting story ahead. LIV Golf CEO and Commissioner, Greg Norman, also made it a point to acknowledge Dustin and his effort. He said, “The first chapter of LIV Golf’s history could not be written without Dustin Johnson’s name. By any measure, DJ is among the elite players in the world. From the start, he’s been a LIV Golf cornerstone.”
