Back in 2019, just before the PGA Championship, Daly had requested to use a cart for the major event under the Americans with Disabilities Act. He asked for a cart due to arthritis in his right knee as well as, because of suffering from diabetes. Moreover, Tiger came into the scene and commented on his request. Tiger said, “As far as JD taking a cart, well. I walked with a broken leg, so…”
Long John had an honest reply to Tiger woods on his criticism of asking for a golf cart. Daly wishes that Tiger had “all the facts” before commenting on his request.

However, surprisingly Daly did not express displeasure about Tigers’ comments. Daly said, “Not at all. He’s the best player I’ve ever played with or seen. He got his fixed for some reason. No doctor will replace my knee because of a different type of problem. It’s hard to explain why. I’m not a doctor. I just try to do what they say.”
He added, “Osteoarthritis is a tough thing, brother. If my knee was broke, I would have had it fixed. But my situation is totally different. It’s painful as hell is all I can say. As was Tiger’s, I’m sure.” I’d love to walk. I’ve done it for years. I think it’s a disadvantage to ride, anyway. Trust me, I just can’t.” Johns’s words prove his honesty and at the same time his respect for Tiger as an individual.
