“Heal very quickly,” said Tiger Woods, if the two leagues can reach an agreement. But with the long due process and no improvement, it seemed forever to finalize the deal. However, since Donald Trump became the 47th POTUS, things have started to move toward his promises during the campaigning he made for the merger deal.
Earlier in February, Jay Monahan, Adam Scott, and Trump discussed the possible roadblocks in the White House. The meeting was held to seek support in striking a deal with PIF. Also, Tiger Woods, before the Genesis Invitational, played golf with the president as per The Guardian
Now, a few days later, big news resulting from the talks is coming in. The talks, which started on June 6, 2023, are finally going in the direction that the golf world wanted. The details about the recent developments were shared on X.

One fan wrote, “Great, let’s get something done so all can be on one tour again.” After the inception of LIV, the top names in golf were divided into leagues. However, the Major events share the true delight for fans as both league’s golfers compete against each other. Now, with the merger, it can be witnessed in every event, as the golf world will be unified and even glorified for the fans. There might even be a possibility of witnessing new events with the two leagues combined.
Others joined by writing, “This would be huge,” and “The golf world is healing.” Fans and even golfers have considered the divide as a major fracture in the sport. Now, with the merger, it will heal and get back to the way golf was with top names competing for every trophy, not just league-specific trophies. The effect can be multifold in favor of the sport, as the merger could bring in a new wave of popularity which will turn the sport into a new phenomenon.
More Netizens wrote, “MAKE THE WINNING STOP!! 🤗🤗,” and “Interesting ⛳.” With the long timeline of the deal of over 1.5 years, fans had lost hope of witnessing the merger. Now with the advancements, the hopeful fans are eager to witness the deal become a reality between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.
