Reaching the milestone of 50 victories is a big deal, but not for the legend, Tiger Woods. After his 50th PGA Tour title in 2006, Woods was still looking for the milestone of his career. His swing coach, Hank Haney, was by his side, guiding his shots and making him a winner. However, there was still so much to achieve, and Haney and Woods were aware of this.

The outstanding golfer Jack Nicklaus took 33 years, six months 21 days to reach the mark of fifty victories. He played in 262 events, whereas the former no. 1 reached the half-century of success in 196 events. It was an excellent record. Even Haney agreed that breaking Nicklaus’ record tells a lot about the skills of the G.O.A.T. However, Woods foresaw the future way before anyone else thought about it.

Why was Tiger Woods not happy?

Attaining 50 victories was excellent, but the 15 times Major winner, Tiger Woods was still not the solo golfer with a milestone. Many other golfers had already achieved a significant number of successes before Woods. These golfers were way ahead of him in winning the events of the PGA Tour. Sam Snead led with 82; Jack Nicklaus had 73 PGA victories, followed by Ben Hogan and late Arnold Palmer, with 64 and 62 wins, respectively.

Woods believed that it would take a lifetime to achieve a solo milestone. The PGA member currently has 82 PGA tour wins, but he is yet to get the elusive win to cross Snead and become the solo #1 in all-time wins. He said“It’s going to take a lifetime, a career, to attain something like that.” However, his 50th PGA win was also a great win. He could make 28 birdies against only four bogeys…his best. The 15-times major championship winner finished the tournament at 24-under 264 by consecutive carding rounds of six-under-par 66.

Even though he was the youngest golfer to reach the mark of 50 wins, something was still bothering him, and it was time. Woods took ten years to get to the half-century of the PGA Victory, and he wished he could play for another 20 to grab more wins. He said, “It took me 10 years to get here. Hopefully, I can continue playing well over the next 10, 20 years.”

How was Woods’ 50th victory celebrated?

Woods grabbed the 50th PGA Tour victory against Jim Furyk at the Buick Open. He defeated him with three strokes and established himself as the legend that we know today.

Celebrations followed his victory immediately after the shot on the 18th green. And it was not soaked in tears for his father like it was at the British Open. Woods was on the podium waiting for his brand-new trophy, and two event workers carried the giant cake for the celebration. It was acclaim to insignia victory.
