Musk proposed to charge $8 a month for Twitter Verification, drawing massive attention from the public. This would affect nearly 400,000 verified Twitter accounts. Veteran pro golfer, Ian Poulter, who currently competes at LIV Golf, shared his opinion on the massive changes in Twitter. Let’s take a look at what he had to say.

The Twitter takeover of Elon Musk has got Poulter excited

Though many people complained about paying for verified Twitter accounts, some understood Musk’s motive behind it. According to the business tycoon, charging for verification is the only way to “defeat the bots and trolls”. Unlike many, Poulter understands that.

The English LIV Golf star shared his joy of the Twitter takeover. He tweeted, “Having 2.2 million followers can be good. However I am very excited that @elonmusk has taken control of twitter”. Poulter then disclosed how the bots, filled with hate, have been annoying him He opened up on how he would have to block anyone anymore with the introduction of Twitter’s new policy.

Ian Poulter further added, “Hopefully he will get rid of Bots & Sad lowlife bullies who write nothing but abusive comments when they have 0 followers & 0 posts. It’s getting boring blocking people”. The verified Twitter accounts will also get more amenities such as priority in replies, mentions, and search, as mentioned by Elon Musk.

Poulter has been a victim of unwanted hate following his association with the Saudi-funded Tour. He was booed at the Open Championship earlier this year and has to face his critics on Twitter regularly. Nonetheless, with Twitter’s latest policies, the LIV Golf star’s challenges of facing unnecessary hate on social media will hopefully come to an end.
