Months later, Dustin Johnson finally received the reward for all of his hard work and patience. The pro golfer not only secured a position but also won a hefty sum of prize money along with the same.
Dustin Johnson adds another feather to his LIV Golf Cap
Dustin Johnson, the two-time major champion, once again added another accomplishment to his pre-existing list of achievements.
With consistency and hard work through the first six events, Johnson is now LIV Golf’s first season-long champion. This title brought a huge amount of $18 million prize for securing first place.
LIV Golf has a provision of providing points to the top 24 finishers in each tournament. Johnson’s consistency has made him the first person to turn this dream into a reality.
After having his name put in the records, Dustin Johnson gave a humbling response. He said, “It’s an honor to be LIV’s first individual season champion. I’d like to thank Greg Norman and LIV for their confidence in me, my brother and caddie Austin, my wife Paulina, my Four Aces teammates Pat, Patrick, and Talor, as well as LIV’s growing legion of fans around the world. Our team is in a really good position with two events to go and I’m looking forward to further contributing to LIV Golf’s exciting story and continued growth.”
Dustin Johnson is probably right, with the amount of consistency he has been putting in the game, LIV does have an exciting story ahead. LIV Golf CEO and Commissioner Greg Norman also made it a point to acknowledge Dustin and his effort. He said, “The first chapter of LIV Golf’s history could not be written without Dustin Johnson’s name. By any measure, DJ is among the elite players in the world. From the start, he’s been a LIV Golf cornerstone.”
Johnson has his say on LIV Golf
Johnson recently left the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf. He was spotted participating in the Chicago LIV Golf Invitational Series along with Pat Perez, Patrick Reed, and Talor Gooch, John attended the LIV Golf press conference on September 18, 2022.
Dustin Johnson, who was formerly believed to be a PGA Tour loyalist, said he made the shift because of his family. Ever since, he has grown to be a star player in LIV Golf.

He was then questioned regarding how dynasties may be established. Johnson retorted that it didn’t matter whether they had four straight victories. And that success is a success, regardless of how much success one has in a row. Only when you consistently win for several years in a row can a dynasty be formed.

He said, “Well, it doesn’t matter how many in a row we get. We need to do it multiple years in a row, then we can be a dynasty.”
