One of the most awaited golf tournaments is underway since June 22. It is an annual golf tournament that’s considered a staple in Cromwell, Connecticut for decades. Yes, it is none other than the Travelers Championship on the PGA Tour. Golf enthusiasts enjoy it a lot.
It may also be noted that the ongoing tournament is the most expensive edition of Travelers championship with a total purse of $20m up for grabs.
A lot of golfers, however, will prefer playing in the US Open — that happened last week — than the Travelers Championship because the former is one of the majors in the golfing world.

Simpson revealed that he fell in love with the course on his very first visit. “I first came in 2008, hasn’t changed a lot. Whatever changes have come made the course a little better.”
“Last week I did not play US Open but I play here. I have played in a bunch of US Opens but here it’s a great break from the grind and brutal US Open”.

Simpson lauded the organizers for their excellent job of caring for everyone involved. “I think for the kids on the PGA Tour, this is the favorite week from kids parties to family parties. They really take everybody into consideration,” he said.
Webb Simpson is struggling at Cromwell though
Webb Simpson has showcased remarkable skills and consistency throughout his career.
With seven PGA Tour wins, and also a major championship victory at the 2012 US Open, Simpson has established himself as a formidable competitor.
Simpson’s career highlights include a T5 at the 2019 Masters Tournament, a T13 at the 2016 PGA Championship, and a T12 at the 2018 Open Championship.

Simpson though is struggling in the ongoing Travelers Championship. After three rounds, he is tied 55th with 16 shots off the pace. Clearly, he will be under tremendous pressure to pull off a top-25 finish on Sunday.
