The team decisions for the 2023 Ryder Cup were a long-anticipated subject. Even though Team Europe is yet to announce the Captain’s picks and finalize the remaining three auto spots, Team US has presently announced a spectacular team lineup. Many proficient golfers made it into the elite list of 12 players of the Ryder Cup to represent the United States, while numerous players were left out.
Of course, those who improved their game sporadically this season were disheartened about not fulfilling their patriotic dream. Still, most of them have expressed their support for the team representing their home country. LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau was very open about his support for Team US and so was another eager PGA Tour pro.

Keegan Bradley had a relatively good season in the 2022-23 calendar. Even though he missed a lot of cuts and trickled down the top 10 ranks in most events, he earned two titles at the Zozo Championship and the Travelers Championship. He also finished in second place at the Farmers Insurance Open and made it through the entire FedEx Cup Playoffs to finish in T9 at the Tour Championship.
Sadly, he neither made the auto spot nor the captain’s pick for Italy this season. To that end, Bradley wrote a rather heartwarming message to the golfing community about his longstanding dream to play for his country. On his Instagram, he shared a picture of his suitcase and wrote about it, “from 2012 Ryder cup that I haven’t opened since that Sunday. I promised myself I wouldn’t open it till I won a Ryder Cup.”
That time capsule sure must have a few gems hiding inside a decade later but what really captured hearts was Bradley’s sentiments about how important the Ryder Cup is to him. He expressed in no small words that the week meant a lot to his golfing career and how hard he tried to make it this year. He also admitted that even though “it wasn’t meant to be,” he’ll move past it and support the team from afar.

His enthusiasm seems as palpable as Bryson DeChambeau who also failed to make the team. However, he has expressed his desire to watch the match play and show his support for Team US.

What to expect from the golfers who weren’t picked
The captain of Crushers GC once declared that even if he isn’t selected, he will watch the game comfortably from his couch and cheer for his team wholeheartedly. Bradley has stated a similar plan, adding that he will be “pulling as hard as [he] can” for his team. It is truly inspiring for the golfing world to witness such enthusiasm from such talented players without a hint of irony.
