Often, there is something that sets a great apart from the rest. One’s raw talent is often combined with wit, which helps one win and gain an upper hand over others. This holds true for PGA Tour legend Tiger Woods, who is often referred to as the greatest player the game has ever seen.
While some fellow professionals are comfortable around the 46-year-old, some might be awestruck by his presence. For anyone younger on the tour, there’s a good possibility that Woods is their inspiration. Scott Stallings, who turned professional in 2007, shares a similar sentiment.

Having worked hard to get where he is, Stallings chooses to thank Tiger Woods for inspiring him. Of course, his first pairing with his idol was as amazing as he would have imagined.
How did Tiger Woods amaze Scott Stallings?
Stallings’ anecdote dates back to 2012 and takes place during the Memorial Tournament. Someone who really looks up to Woods, Stallings made sure to let the 15-time winner know. “I just wanted to tell him thank you,” Stallings explained while on GOLF’s Subpar. After all, Woods was the one who motivated that Tennesee kid to pursue his dream.
However, that was not the most amusing part of the conversation for Stallings. As per the 36-year-old, it is probably the ‘most impressive’ thing someone has done on the course.
What did Woods tell Stallings?
While at the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Ohio, Woods apparently told Stallings that he would see him in a playoff with a ’67. Already in the 18th, Stallings was a bit unsure. “He said, ‘The wind is switching. We’re gonna go out a little bit earlier — I think 67 gets into a playoff. I think that’ll be good enough with how the course is gonna play.’”

Though Stallings was a bit confused, Woods’ prediction was spot on. He shot 67 and went on the event by two strokes. “He knew,” Stallings added. “It was awesome.”
On his end, Stallings shot 77 and finished T25 with an overall score of 291.
