Over the past two decades, Tiger Woods has impressed the golf world with his astonishing career. As a former World No. 1, he has 15 major championships and numerous other professional titles to his name. However, what looks like a pleasant journey from the outside, has had its own massive setbacks.

Woods is known for his near to perfect career. However, on the other hand, he is also known for surgeries that surround him owing to his injuries. Over the years, he has undergone a total of 8 surgeries. Even though the 46-year-old has made sure to rise up after every downfall, it has often left him raising questions about his career.

Tiger Woods presented a worrisome account of his body

The year 2020 was one of the most unpleasant seasons for Woods. Following a series of falling results, Woods headed to the Masters Tournament, in the hope of a good result. However, continuing to struggle in his performance, the 5-time Masters Tournament champion ended his 2020 campaign at T38.

Following the loss, he indulged in a conversation with the press. During the conversation, he threw light on how surgeries and age have started affecting his performance. “My body just has moments where it just doesn’t work like it used to,” he said.

Prior to the 2020 Masters, Woods had also undergone a total of 6 surgeries. While 3 of them were performed on his knees, the other three took place on his back. In addition to that, he also underwent numerous minor procedures in the hope to get back to his prime. However, despite innumerable tries, he not only failed to reach his optimum potential but also witnessed a drop in his performance.

Going ahead in the conversation, he asserted, “No matter how hard I try, things just don’t work the way they used to, and no matter how much I push and ask of this body, it just doesn’t work at times.”

In 2021, he underwent another back surgery in January. In addition to that, he further underwent his fourth knee surgery after suffering from a fatal car accident a month later.

Even though it’s been more than a year since the accident, Woods continues struggling with the after affects. Failing to perform, the 15-time major champion, suffered back-to-back unpleasant results at the 2022 Masters Tournament, PGA Championship, and the Open Championship.
